I decided to investigate an opportunity called USANA due to the number of scams running online, this is what I found out…
USANA is a MLM company offering nutritional and skin care products. Majority of the products are made in the United States and distributed in 13 international markets. USANA provides and sponsors products to athletic agencies around the world.
Knowing the Products
USANA products cover four brands namely USANA Nutritionals, USANA Macro-Optimizer foods, Rev3 Energy drinks and Sense Basics and Enhancers. USANA Nutritionals cover Optimizers and Essentials nutritional products, the macro-optimizer foods include nutritional bars and drink mixes and Sense Basics include skin care, hair and facial products. Nutritional products are expensive, but are claimed to be of high quality.
USANA Essentials harbour 13 organic compounds and 19 inorganic elements that the body does not create. The body cannot create the essential ingredients, so people should get these from their diet.
Company History
USANA Health Sciences is a company in the United States, which seems to offer a fair compensation plan. A financial opportunity is then given to shareholders, independent associates and employees.
Dr. Myron Wentz joined a pathology group as an infectious disease expert and led the immunology and microbiology labs in Peoria, Illinois. He launched Gull Laboratories in 1974. In 1977, many viral diagnostic assays were ready to be distributed to labs and hospitals.
He then founded USANA Health Sciences in 1992, a company that offers food, nutritional products and personal care products. Some of the products included and developed over the years are vitamins and minerals, meal replacements, drinks and snacks claiming to work for weight control and products that cleanse hair and skin.
From the research I’ve done so far, I can say this seems to be a legit opportunity.
However, the MAJOR PROBLEM I see is the marketing plan. This company teaches its reps to prospect family & friends, do home parties, buy leads and distribute brochures..I don’t believe this to be a solid marketing plan. With the Internet, business can be leveraged to reach millions across the globe.
